Finally. This word was the most appropriate term to characterize the 2009 Grand Alumni Homecoming for a Cause of the Education High School last October 25, 2009 (Sunday), at the Sycip-Velayo Multi-Purpose Halls. The event was the culminating activity of the revived UST-EHS General Alumni Association, Inc., for its inaugural year of 2008-2009.
Despite the incessant downpour that encompassed most of Metro Manila, the alumni of the UST-Education High School were able to successfully celebrate their institution’s 59TH Foundation Anniversary with the “UST-EHS Walk w/ History: Retracing Our Steps for the Past 59 Years,” last August 1, 2009 (Saturday), inside the UST Campus. Last June 20, 2009 (Saturday), the UST-EHSGAAI held its formal launching of its brand-new website, at the College of Education Audio-Visual Room. In a simple gathering attended by alumni from the different batches of the EHS, the website designed by Philippe Jose S. Hernandez was shown to everyone.
In preparation for the EHS’ 60TH Anniversary in 2010 and the University’s Quadricentennial in 2011, the UST-EHS General Alumni Association, Inc. embarked on the UST-EHS History Project, which is a comprehensive account of the people, places and events that have shaped the Education High School for the past six decades.
Further solidifying its stance as the representatives of the alumni of the UST-Education High School, the members of the Board of Trustees of the EHS General Alumni Association, Inc., met none other than UST’s Rector Magnificus, Rev. Fr. Rolando V. de la Rosa, O.P., last January 13, 2009, in a special Courtesy Call at the Rector’s Office, UST-Main Building.
Last November 21, 2008, the UST-EHS General Alumni Association, Inc.’s newly elected Board of Trustees took their Oaths of Office, in an Induction Ceremony presided over by UST Vice-Rector Rev. Fr. Pablo T. Tiong, O.P. at the Santissimo Rosario Parish Church.
